Celebrating Christmas

Thinking about hosting a warm, woodland themed party? Dress up your Christmas table with natural decorations such as DIY nametags made from sticks with pine needle spring or holly embellishment. Mini rosemary wreaths can be used in a variety of crafty ways! You can use a spring of rosemary to mold into the shape of a circle and secure with red ribbon or twine to use as a nametag or napkin ring. Be sure to incorporate red berries, holly or pine sprigs throughout your table settings. The more the merrier!

To bring the essence and aroma of a traditional Christmas into your home, use cinnamon sticks. Not only are they perfect to decorate your table setting guests will also find them a scent reminding them of the season. For a timeless holiday napkin arrangement, bring it all together by fastening cinnamon sticks and red berries on a white napkin and tying it with twine or ribbon.

For a more whimsical holiday table setting, place your utensils in a miniature red stocking. Guests can reuse the stocking in their home holiday décor too!

Hosting Hanukkah

To keep the authentic Hanukkah colors in your table setting, you can use white and blue or opt to incorporate various shades of indigo, cobalt, turquoise, robin’s egg, ice blue, and royal blue in into your theme. Shades of blue accents displayed in your glassware, table linens or vases, will add just the right pop of color. A French blue and white holiday table setting incorporates both modern and historical patterns for an elegant table setting for you and your guests. Match a blue French toile tablecloth with royal blue and white plates.film Despicable Me 3

Your festival of lights can be displayed in many different ways. Aside from having a traditional Menorah, you can create your own with DIY ideas such as using 9 gold painted metallic wine bottles, or use a vice to create holes for each candle in a piece of driftwood.

For a fresh take on the holiday, use modern vases to place beautiful white orchids and calla lilies or blue hydrangeas. Pinecones make wonderful place settings with a nametag tied to each cone or use to decorate the table. Also the use of gold in your cutlery, plates, runners, candelabras, candles or vases are a beautiful accent color for table settings. You can tie it all together by sprinkling gold chocolate coins along the table. Shalom!

Entertaining Kwanzaa

For your celebration of family, friends and community, base your table setting on your color palette; red, black and green. Lighting the Kinara is one of Kwanzaa’s most important rituals shared by lighting this symbolic piece with children and guests. The Kinara should have three red candles, one black candle and three green candles, in that order.

Opt for solid color table linens coupled with bold colored cloth napkins for a more formal holiday table setting. For a more whimsical table display, choose paper napkins in stripes or chevron pattern. You can choose to red as an accent piece carried throughout your vases with red roses or glassware and dinnerware. For a more elegant look, display black accents in serving dishes and plates. Don’t be afraid to incorporate tangerine orange and lime green into your Kwanzaa holiday party. Embellish the table with leafy plants containing bright greens and yellows or have orange accent plates.
